The Istana (Government House) and Sri Temasek (Colonial Secretary’s Bungalow) were designed to impress. And they sure did, with their pleasant hillcrest setting, spacious grounds and gracious architecture. Now the official residence of the President of Singapore, this monument was ironically built on bricks made by Indian convict labourers.
